YES Prep Announces Phase II Growth Plan
YES Prep launched its Phase II Growth Plan to grow to 13 schools and educate 10,000 students. YES Prep currently serves 3,500 students at seven Houston-area campuses. YES Prep is building on its decade of success to transform Houston by preparing 100% of our students for college completion.
HOUSTON NEEDS YES PREP
Houston is not prepared for future prosperity because it is failing to educate the vast majority of its youth.
- In a Houston public classroom today, only 10% of sixth graders will complete college.
- Of the top 100 smartest cities in America, Houston ranks 83rd.
- Houston demands better education: YES has more students on the waiting list (4,000) than enrolled in its five schools.
QUALITY GROWTH
YES Prep is committed to growing without compromising its mission-driven culture ans sustained academic results.
- To support the plan, YES Prep needs $34 million; over half has already been committed.
- New schools, YES Prep-South and YES Prep-West, will open in July 2009.
