There are some very definite and measurable ways that YES Prep will be changing in the next year that get this author very excited and will push me and my team to perform at levels beyond what we have ever operated. For starters, we will officially enroll our 5,000th student. That is halfway to our goal of serving 10,000 students in the Houston area. Next, we will be sending 100% of our students to college from three fully grown YES Prep campuses in three very different Houston neighborhoods. YES Prep Public Schoolsstrives to be the best place in the nation to develop and support educational leaders. To this end, we have developed three key leadership development opportunities. First, we have implemented a Leadership Cohort Training Model that meets three times throughout the year to discuss and practice goal-setting, team development, meeting facilitation, and prioritization of competing demands. This cohort is for new team leaders with roles such as grade level chair, dean of students, dean of instruction, student support counselor, content specialist, course leader, or operations manager. Eighty of YES Prep’s current leaders attended the two-day introduction session this summer, and they will receive another day in the fall and one in spring. These follow-up days
