YES Prep Spring Art Show Announcement

YES Prep System-Wide Spring 2010 Art Show featuring work from students of East End, North Central, Southeast, and Southwest Campuses.

Who?: All 4 YES Prep schools with Visual Arts programs are involved in the upcoming art show. All art students (6^th – 12^th Grade) at YES Prep East End, North Central, Southeast, and Southwest have the opportunity to submit art for the upcoming Spring 2010 show in April. The art teachers will select the artworks to be featured from all four schools and all grade levels.

Students, their families, YES Prep Staff and Supporters, and the general public are invited to attend the opening and the exhibition.

What?: This is the second YES Prep system-wide art exhibition that features art by our talented Middle School and High School students.

At the opening event, there will be a live and silent auction of original art and prints. All donations will directly benefit Visual Arts at YES Prep. Community art leaders will also select: Best in Show, Best Middle School Art, Best High School Art, and First Place for each campus.

When?:

April 29 – May 3^rd

Opening Event: Thursday, April 29^th from 6 – 9 pm

Where?: Houston Institute of Culture (708 Telephone Road)

Why?: YES Prep students have the important opportunity of showcasing their art in a professional setting, and the art exhibition also offers students an authentic and engaging experience with the Houston art community.
