yBlazer Studios and School Reform
A few months back, yBlazer Studios was asked to create a video that basically answered the question, “How do schools in the United States stack up with schools from around the world?” The students have been researching and through the magic of technology were able to attend a presentation by Whitney Tilson in Dallas Texas regarding school reform.
The video is beginning to take shape as the students begin compiling all of their information. yBlazers is coming up with the “Top Three Things School MUST Do To Compete Internationally!” list. Some possible ideas are
1.) Requiring Schools to become International Baccalaureate Schools in order to compete in the global market
2.) Spending less money on facilities and more on highly qualified teachers (YES Prep is already there!)
3.) Creating more exchange programs between not only students, but teachers as well
We would love to hear your ideas as well. What do public schools need to do to better compete with our neighbors around the world?
yBlazer Studios is Directed by YES Prep North Central teacher, Craig Brandenburg. Some videos can be seen at www.youtube.com/yesprephouston and www.yblazerstudios.com.
