Every single student and classroom at YES Prep is affected by the decisions made by our state legislators in Austin – they decide how much money we get and what policies we have to follow. I’m writing all of you because I need your help to make sure our Houston legislators support our mission. This can only happen when we come together and speak with a singular and powerful voice.
Why does that matter right now? The legislature will be making some decisions soon that would have a direct impact on our schools. The state is facing a significant budget shortfall and legislators are deciding how much money to give our schools, whether or not to make it easier to open more charter schools like YES Prep, and whether or not to make it easier for schools like us to find great facilities in which we can teach our kids.
These decisions will have a direct impact on our kids and our neighbors, so before legislators make up their mind, they need to hear from us. They need to see that enough parents like you care and they need to hear your stories before they will help pass these new laws. It can’t be done without you.

FREE LUNCH AND BUSING
to register, please email norma.mottu@yesprep.org.
On February 9th, hundreds of parents from charter schools like ours across the state are taking buses to the State Capitol in Austin to stand up for our kids. We are providing free buses and a free trip to all parents who can join us. I am asking each of you to join us so that our elected officials in Austin know how much we care about our kids. Thank you for support in making YES Prep such a great school system and thanks for standing up for our kids.
