100% of YES Prep North Central Students have been ACCEPTED to College!

“It’s official!  As of today, 100% of our seniors have been admitted to at least one 4-year college/university!” – YES Prep North Central Director of College Counseling, Chad Spurgeon

We ARE succeeding in our mission.  Very few organizations can say this with such absolute certainty.  Though we will always have room for improvement, we need to celebrate the fact that we are about 2 months away from one of the most historic events in public education in Houston’s history.  On April 30th and June 5th we prove what we’ve been saying for seven years… that when given the access to the same resources and opportunities as their more affluent peers, Houston’s finest, the YES Prep North Central Trailblazers, can and will achieve at the highest levels and get into and succeed at the best colleges and universities in the country.

This is an amazing list of colleges and opportunities for all of North Central seniors!  A true testament to the hard work and commitment by both the students and staff to doing “whatever it takes!”  Congrats!

Reading about the accomplishments of these students reminds me of where I stood so ecstatically as a YES senior a few years ago and inspires me to seize every opportunity I can in college now. Congratulations to the North Central staff and students!
