Upcoming Dates:
Final Student Activity Fee payment (all fees should be paid by this time), January 20th. If you have not yet paid a payment or made arrangments to pay, please contact cara.eng@yesprep.org.
Please mark the calendar for future service days: February 23rd, March 22nd, and April 19th. There will not be early pick-up on these days as our students will be all around Houston volunteering.
Please also note future MFA meeting dates. Wed, April 4, 7:45 a.m., Wed May 2, 7:45 am.
Parent Memos:
Parent memos are important newsletters that will be sent out twice a month. Every student is given a copy of the parent memo to take home. If you do not see the parent memo from your child, please discuss the issue with them. In addition, the parent memos will be posted on this webpage. A good rule of thumb is to check this website every time you receive a paycheck.

Maverick Family Alliance (MFA)
The Maverick Family Alliance (MFA) is a parent-teacher organization comprised of parent volunteers whose primary objective is to provide support for the YES Prep student body by maintaining a close working relationship with the YES Prep administration, faculty and staff. It is an excellent way to get involved with your child's school and a fun way to meet other members of the Maverick family.
Student Activity Fee Sweat Equity
The Student Activity Fee (SAF) is a fee that is for all YES students. It is $225 dollars for the first student, and $112.50 for each sibling that attends YES. The Student Activity Fee pays augments your child's educaton by paying for longer school day, field trips, Fun Friday events, and special presentations such as poetry shows. Especially with the restricted economic conditions regarding school funding in 2011-2012, it is especially important that this fee is paid so that YES can continue to offer high quality programming for your child.
If you are unable to make the monetary donation of the Student Activity Fee to YES Prep, then we ask that you pay the activity fee in “sweat equity”. Sweat equity is earned by volunteering at the school and completing projects at the direction of the school director, campus operations manager and front office team. Volunteers are credited $8/hr towards the payment of the Student Activity fee. Volunteer activities include helping out with directing traffic in the mornings and afternoons, helping out in the front office, etc. We love having parents coming up to make our campus stronger so if you are interested please do not hesitate to come in and give back to your school.
